Fantastic food for Mexican/Japanese fusion. It was my first time and I will definitely be coming back here in the future. The ambience was very chill and our server Julio was attentive, polite, had a great vibe, and overall had superb customer service. The establishment is also very clean too. This place just checked off all my boxes. Try it out! The birria ramen was my favorite. :)

The last stop of my crazy 36 hour foodie adventure was at North Park Sushi and Grill. Discovering this gem was totally accidental. My friends and I were going to try and watch the Warriors playoff game at True North but they were charging $20 cover. We walked over to another bar only to find out they didn't have tvs, but on the way there we saw this sushi spot had the game on. We come back, only to discover they have Mexican inspired sushi. I had never heard of this in my life! *insert mind blown emoji* But this is how they interpret sushi in Sinaloa. We ordered three rolls: the al pastor tofu, Chile rellano and birria. We didn't even order traditional rolls. The al pastor tofu was a little bland. The tofu didn't taste like it was marinated. The Chile Rellano was really really good. The birria rolls definitely gave me my birria fix. Server was really nice and explained the concept to us. She was pretty attentive. Decor is really fun. I would definitely come back, in fact I can't wait to come back to try some other dishes.

good spot with friendly employees. just wanted to grab something lowkey and this was exactly what i was going for. i ordered the chicken yakitori and spicy tuna roll (plus their complimentary chips+salsa) and it all came out to $24.25 after the tip. their salsa was great, yakitori was a tad too salty, and the spicy tuna roll was good. they accept apple pay and do contactless menus/ordering at the table, so convenient! i know it's for covid, but as an introvert i love having that option haha. i'd definitely come back.

Was craving both sushi and Mexican food and came across this place on a search for a fusion restaurant. So glad we stumbled across this place. Unfortunately parking in North Park is almost nonexistent but we were able to find parking a couple blocks from the main strip. As we arrived, we noticed there was a sign for a happy hour beer special and that they had outside seating. For a weekday, it was quite empty in North Park but luckily was nice that we got sat immediately. The menu has some unique options to choose from and there was a handful we wanted to try but settled on "the avenue" as our refreshing roll, "the carnivore" which had pork, chicken and carne asada and the last one was "the North Parker" which had Tampico crab, chicken and cheese which I was really eager to try. Our favorite was by far the Carnivore, it was perfectly paired and meats cooked perfectly. We were offered a roasted oil chili sauce that had a kick but not over powering and was perfect with a couple dabs. We were offered chips and salsa upon arrival and it didn't have a bad flavor, the onions were a bit much and somewhat overpowering but otherwise good flavor. The North Parker was good and I wanted to try a cheese roll but honestly forgot about the cheese part because it wasn't over powering and the flavors paired well together. The Avenue roll was simply refreshing and a nice alternative to a California Roll. There was definitely a "wow" factor here with these rolls and while the pricing has seem to have gone up compared to pricing found online... it was definitely worth the price tag paid. Not to mention getting a large Sapporo and a warm sake for $5 on happy hour special. We can't wait to come back and try the other fusion rolls as it was tough to choose just 2 rolls and a refreshing roll... next time we might just have to skip a refreshing roll and order three rolls. Service was definitely excellent from the minute we walked in. When staff was taking a break, we were informed and taken care of by someone else. The restaurant is pretty decently big inside and out for the North Park area. The restaurant is split inside with the sushi bar area in the middle and a wall dividing the restaurant in half. The restrooms were extremely clean and the women's had a baby changing area, which was pretty cool to see. The entire restaurant was clean and service was top notch. We will definitely be back and try more fusion rolls...
